RARE Angelite 24x44mm Geometric Cabochon Stone
The Angelite stone is a relatively new crystal, discovered in Peru in 1987. It is also sometimes referred to as Blue Anhydrite. This name comes from the Greek word, anhydrous, meaning, “without water.” That is a reference to the stone’s unique physical property, as a dehydrated gypsum. The Angelite crystal only develops in areas where gypsum crystals once had contact with water. Over millions of years, the water evaporates and the gypsum crystals get compressed, resulting in the formation of Angelite.
