Most Jet is found large deposits in Utah, US and is black in color. Jet is Anthracite Coal (it is light weight and not as heavy as most stones) which is a sedimentary rock formed from plants that lived millions of years ago. Traditionally it has been used a great deal in Native American and southwestern jewelry.
