These Australian Peanut Wood beads geth its bold patterning as a result of boring worms which drilled through driftwood which was subsequently buried and fossilized. The worm holes, giving the appearance of “peanuts” were filled in with light colored sediments while the wooden areas retained a dark color—the result of organic material being included in the fossil wood.
