Variscite 6mm Round Beads, 7 inch Strands
Variscite is popular in the gem world because of its resemblance to turquoise, except its blue green coloring is caused by chromium, not copper. Variscite from Nevada typically contains brown or black spiderwebbing in the matrix and is often confused with green turquoise. Most of the Nevada variscite recovered in recent decades has come from mines located in Lander County[8] and Esmeralda County, specifically in the Candelaria Hills.
